In 2021, Knut was the team leader for an international team undertaking a mid-term review of the Norwegian Government’s Action Plan on Sustainable Food Systems. The Action Plan was signed by seven different ministries, and entailed a broad and holistic approach from the Norwegian government to address the various challenges pertaining to sustainable food systems. The objective of the plan was to ensure increased food security through the development of sustainable food systems.

The review assessed how the approach towards food systems was implemented in Norwegian foreign and development policy, focusing both on concrete interventions and case-studies in Ethiopia and Malawi, as well as assessing the normative work taking place at international level.
