Pantja is an Indonesian scholar working at the intersection of governance, politics, public policy, sustainable development, and heterodox economics. His research journey spans diverse landscapes, from advocating for living wages in Indonesia's tea and footwear industries to exploring innovative financing and business models for sustainable commodities (palm oil, rubber, coconut, tea, and rice), as well as a just energy transition. His roles are diverse, ranging from team leader, researcher, advisor, academician, and project evaluator.
As a founder and senior researcher at the Institute for Social and Economic Research (inrise), Pantja collaborates with leading research organizations to address pressing global challenges. Beyond research, he teaches macroeconomics at School of Business and Economics - Universitas Prasetiya Mulya (Jakarta, Indonesia). His extensive experiences and knowledge are developed over a long-standing scholarship, where he was awarded a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from Wageningen University & Research (The Netherlands), an M.Sc. in Economics (Political Economy of Development) from the School of Oriental and African Studies – University of London, and an M.M. in International Management from PPM – Graduate School of Management (Indonesia).
Pantja also conducts research collaborations with Wageningen University and Research (The Netherlands), Walailak University (Thailand), IPB University (Bogor, Indonesia) and Universitas Gadjah Mada (Yogyakarta, Indonesia).
