Neema is a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam - Business School, conducting teaching, research, and consultancy in the fields of Economics and Finance. She is a seasoned economist specializing in the areas of Industrial and Trade Competitiveness, Development Finance, Private Sector Development, Impact Investment, and Human Capital. The contextual specification of the expertise encompasses local assignment and regional economies, particularly, East African and SADC Countries.
In 2022, Neema was awarded by the Institute of Certified Chartered Economists (ICCE) as the Most Influential Young Economist for Sub Saharan. This counted from her engagements with several international organizations, including IFC/WB, GIZ, UNIDO, ILO, TradeMark Africa, SADC and EAC. Locally, Neema has worked with the central and local government authorities in Tanzania, as well as several of the country’s private sector associations including Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI), Manufacturers Council of Zanzibar (MCZ), and Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC).
Neema is also a leader of Tanzania Impact Investment Taskforce, where she works closely with the Global Steering Group to harness Impact movement in Africa, contribute to market development and sustainability of the impact ecosystem, conduct research and knowledge sharing among stakeholders, contribute to policy, and enhance awareness of the agenda through forums and discussions.
